CODE OF CONDUCT  ALL PLAYERS

All rules apply during the game and on social media

  • Abide by the rules. Never argue with the referee. Respect decisions made by referees and encourage others to do the same.
  • Never argue with an official. If you disagree have your captain, coach or manager approach the official during a break or after the competition
  • Control your temper. Verbal or physical abuse towards referees, officials or other players, are not acceptable or permitted in Oztag. Do not yell at, sledge, harass or ridicule others. Do not use foul, threatening or insulting language. Never make racist threats or remarks.
  • Be a good sport. Applaud all good plays whether they are made by your team or the opposition.
  • Treat all participants in your sport as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor.
  • Show compassion and consideration at all times, to injured and ill players and other persons. Do everything you can to help and support them.
  • Cooperate with your coach, team mates, opponents, referees ground managers and officials. Without them there would be no competition.
  • Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please parents and coaches. Win or lose with respect and dignity.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion
  • At all times, follow the directions of the Ground Manager and/or other duty officials.
  • Never involve themselves in an altercation / fight should one occur.
  • Never arrive at a lake Macquarie oztag game/training under the influence of alcohol, never bring alcohol to a Junior Oztag game/training and only drink alcohol, if it is available, in a responsible manner in the designated licensed area.

 

Penalties for Breaches of the Lake Macquarie Oztag Code of Conduct include but are not limited to:

  • Suspension of a match and/or
  • Termination of a match (including potential forfeiture of competition points) and/or
  • loss all previous competition points and/or
  • Monetary fines and/or
  • Suspension of a participant on a temporary or permanent basis and/or
  • Suspension of a team /coach /managers on a temporary or permanent basis.
  • All penalties are at the discretion of the convener

CODE OF CONDUCT   SPECTATOR/PARENT

All rules apply during the game and on social media

  • Condemn all violent or illegal acts, whether they are by players, coaches, officials, parents or spectators.
  • Respect the referee’s decisions and teach children to do the same. – don’t complain or argue about decisions during or after a game.
  • Behave! Unsportsmanlike language, harassment or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Encourage players to play by the rules and to respect opposition players and officials.
  • Never ridicule or scorn a player for making a mistake – respect their efforts.
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
  • Understand that sport is part of a total life experience, and the benefits of involvement go far beyond the final score of a game.
  • Participate in positive cheering that encourages the players in the team you are supporting; do not engage in any cheering that taunts or intimidates opponents, their fans or officials
  • Do not engage in discrimination, harassment or abuse in any form, including the use of obscene or offensive language or gestures, the incitement of hatred or violence or partaking in indecent or racist sledging of players or other spectators.
  • Do not use violence in any form against any player, official or other spectators
  • Remember that children participate in Oztag for their own enjoyment, not yours!
  • At all times, follow the directions of the Ground Manager and/or other duty officials.
  • Spectators are not permitted to enter the playing area while a game is on unless instructed by an Oztag official or referee.
  • Never involve themselves’ in an altercation / fight should one occur.
  • Never arrive at a lake Macquarie oztag game/training under the influence of alcohol, never bring alcohol to a Junior Oztag game/training and only drink alcohol, if it is available, in a responsible manner in the designated licensed area.

 

Penalties for Breaches of the Lake Macquarie Oztag Code of Conduct include but are not limited to:

  • Suspension of a match and/or
  • Termination of a match (including potential forfeiture of competition points) and/or
  • loss all previous competition points and/or
  • Monetary fines and/or
  • Suspension of a participant on a temporary or permanent basis and/or
  • Suspension of a team /coach /manager/player/parent on a temporary or permanent basis.
  • Immediate removal from grounds, police contacted

 

All penalties are at the discretion of the convener
